North Korean state media reported on 7 February 2023 that provincial people’s assemblies were held.

PEOPLE’S ASSEMBLIES HELD IN ALL PROVINCES

During the period when the solemn march for the prosperity and development of our great state and the welfare of our people is accelerating under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, people’s assemblies were held in Pyongyang City, South Hwanghae Province, Kangwon Province, North Hamgyong Province and all other provinces.

Participating in the assemblies were deputies to the provincial people’s assemblies with officials of the provincial people’s committees, city and county people’s chairpersons and related officials as observers.

During the people’s assemblies in all provinces, there were reports and speeches on the tasks for this year and the local budgets to analyze and review successes, experiences and biases achieved in the work of the people’s committees in the previous year and completely fulfill the important tasks presented at the 6th plenary meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.

Agenda items related with the development of regional economies and the improvement of the people’s lives were introduced and organizational issues were also discussed.

During the assemblies, relevant decisions were adopted under the serious discussions of deputies.
