The General Staff of the Korean People’s Army issued another statement on 6 December 2022.

STATEMENT OF THE SPOKESPERSON OF THE
GENERAL STAFF OF THE KOREAN PEOPLE’S ARMY

On December 6, the specified artillery sub-units of eastern frontline units of the Korean People’s Army, in accordance with the instructions of the General Staff, fired 82 multiple rocket launcher shells for eight hours and 30 minutes towards the sea as part of the purpose of counteracting and warning against the enemy’s provocation of artillery firing in the area close to the frontline.

This clearly shows the point that this was our army’s military action of counteracting and warning against the treacherous desire for provocation which was planned by the enemies.

The enemies intentionally conducted the firing of dozens of multiple rocket launcher shells from firing sites in the whole area of the frontline where visual surveillance is possible and caused our inevitable counteraction, after which they spread out the usual sophistry of calling it a “violation” of the “September 19 North-South Military Agreement” and acted to shift responsibility to us.

Commenting on the violation of the “September 19 North-South Military Agreement,” the past acts carried out by the enemies which violated the agreement should be considered first.

Our army seriously warns the enemy side once again to stop immediately the sensational military acts in the area near the frontline.

Our certain military counteraction on the continued provocative acts of the enemies will become more offensive as days go by.
