Kim Yo Jong issued a statement on 3 March 2020 regarding Chongwadae’s response on the firepower strike drill of the Korean People’s Army frontline long-range artillery sub-units on 2 March 2020.

I EXPRESS ASTONISHMENT AT THE
POOR WAY OF THINKING OF THE CHONGWADAE

STATEMENT OF KIM YO JONG, FIRST VICE DEPARTMENT
DIRECTOR OF THE PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE

If frightened at the fire, even a fire poker would be frightened at the sight of it.

This is the reaction of the south Korean Chongwadae on the firepower strike drill of the frontline artillerymen of the People’s Army held yesterday.

We did not conduct the drill to threaten anyone.

For an army that exists for the defense of the country, drills are a basic mission and a self-defensive action.

However, we really cannot help but wonder about the talk of the south’s Chongwadae about “strong regret” and “demand of suspension.”

This presumptuousness is nothing but a nonsense treatment.

In fact, this is a talk that is always chanted by Chongwadae and the Ministry of National Defense like an answering machine.

Whether conducting drills or resting in someone else’s home, the question is if it has any care with us or if it is blurting out regardless of what we have or have not said.

I know that the south is quite enjoying the joint military exercises and has taken the seen unpleasant spree such as raising the heat when sourcing high-tech military equipment as something to be preoccupied about.

I wonder if the high-tech fighters that was dragged and placed in secret has the goal of striking us at any time or if they have been brought in to spread agricultural chemicals.

It is a fact known by the whole world that the cancellation of the joint military exercise that was to push through in March due to the novel coronavirus that is spreading in south Korea is not due to a decision of the masters of Chongwadae who are not interested in peace, reconciliation or cooperation.

We are truly curious on how Chongwadae will respond if we demand to stop the game of joint military exercise that the south had wanted to do as it is not helping in the effort to reduce tensions in the Korean peninsula.

It is really the height of blaming others for one’s wrongdoing that people who are really absorbed in the game of war exercise are telling what is right or wrong on holding military drills in someone else’s home.

Finally, looking at it all, we wonder who would treat people who make such a strong deterring opinion as someone who is normal when saying that they should be militarily prepared and that we should not have military drills.

These irrational opinions, words and actions of Chongwadae only further amplify our distrust, hatred and contempt on the entirety of the south away from an individual.

It is us who shall express “strong regret” at the illogical and poor thinking of Chongwadae that boils down to the logic that they must conduct military drills and others cannot.

The feeling in these words are truly hurtful, but, in our view, the behavior of Chongwadae is not much different to that of a three-year old child.

When looking at something powerful that likes forced acts, surely it looks like that of the U.S.

It is natural for it to place allies before its own countrymen, become parasitic and look alike.

If it wants to oppose us, we wonder if it could be a little more brave and fair without deterrents.

It is very unfortunate and disappointing, but it should be nevertheless be fortunate that it is not the expression of the personal stand of the president.

I wonder how every word that have been spit out and every act done be so specific and completely foolish.

Truly, it is an awful comparison, but a dog that eats fear barks louder. Just like someone…
